Possible Causes

NTC temperature sensor unplugged, Broken NTC sensor wiring harness, Failed NTC temperature sensor, Faulty main control board sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power (unplug or switch off circuit breaker) before removing any panels.

Steps to check the temperature sensor circuit:

  • Pull the oven slightly out of the cabinet to access the rear panel (built-in Bomann models usually have the NTC sensor mounted at the back of the cavity).
  • Remove the rear cover. Locate the NTC temperature sensor (small metal probe entering the oven cavity with two wires leading to a connector).
  • Check that the sensor connector is firmly plugged into the wiring harness and the harness is firmly connected to the main control board.
  • Inspect the cable for cuts, burns, or crushed sections, especially where it passes near the fan or metal edges.
  • With a multimeter set to resistance (ohms), measure the sensor at room temperature. Typical NTC sensors read between 500–1200 Ω at 20–25°C (check Bomann service data if available). An open circuit (OL) or 0 Ω indicates a bad sensor or wiring.
  • If the sensor is open or shorted, replace the NTC temperature sensor. If the sensor reads correctly, check continuity of the harness from sensor plug to the control board plug.
  • If wiring and sensor are good, the fault is likely on the main control board sensor input and the board may need replacement.

When to stop: If you are not comfortable using a multimeter or removing the oven from the cabinet, contact a qualified technician.
