Possible Causes
Faulty door switch not detecting closed position, Misaligned door latch, Broken wiring from door switch to control board, Defective door lock mechanism on pyrolytic models
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing panels.
Check door switch and latch:
- Open the oven door and locate the door switch (usually near the frame where the door presses in).
- Press the switch plunger by hand and listen for a clear click. If no click or it feels loose, the switch may be faulty.
- Inspect the door latch and hinges for misalignment or damage that prevents the door from fully closing and actuating the switch.
- Access the switch from the front control panel or side (depending on model) and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing the plunger. Replace the door switch if it does not change state.
- On Bomann pyrolytic models with a door lock motor, check that the lock engages and the wiring to the lock switch is intact.
