Possible Causes

Heating element shorted to chassis, Damaged wiring insulation touching metal, Moisture inside elements or wiring, Faulty main control board component shorting to ground

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker. Disconnect power and investigate.

Steps:

  • Note which function causes the trip (grill, bottom heat, fan, etc.). This points to the suspect heating element.
  • With power off, disconnect the suspect element and test resistance from each terminal to the oven chassis. Any low resistance indicates a short; replace the element.
  • Inspect wiring harnesses near hot areas for melted insulation contacting metal.
  • Allow the oven to dry for 24 hours if there has been steam cleaning or spillage; moisture can cause temporary leakage.
  • If all elements and wiring test fine, a shorted component on the main control board may be responsible and should be checked by a technician.
