Possible Causes
Weak or partially failed heating element, Faulty oven temperature sensor, Poor door seal causing heat loss, Miscalibrated control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before testing components.
- Verify with thermometer: Use an oven-safe thermometer to compare actual temperature to the setpoint.
- Inspect gasket: Check the door gasket all around for gaps, tears, or compression. Replace if not sealing properly.
- Test elements: Measure resistance of each element and compare to service data. Replace any element with significantly higher resistance than specified.
- Check sensor: Test the NTC sensor resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature (e.g., 100°C in boiling water, if removable). Replace if readings are out of spec.
- Calibrate control: Some Bosch models allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu. Adjust if the oven is consistently off by a fixed amount.
