Possible Causes
Overheated control area due to blocked cooling, Faulty control board temperature sensor, Failed cooling fan, Damaged wiring to sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing internal components.
- Improve ventilation: Ensure cabinet cut-out dimensions match Bosch specifications and that there is adequate airflow above and behind the oven.
- Check cooling fan: Confirm the top cooling fan runs during operation. If not, test and replace the fan motor as needed.
- Locate electronics sensor: Some Bosch models have a small NTC sensor near the control board to monitor electronics temperature. Inspect wiring for damage or disconnection.
- Test sensor: With power off, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Bosch service data (commonly in the tens of kΩ). An open or shorted sensor must be replaced.
- Board evaluation: If the sensor and fan are good, the main control board may be misreading temperature and will need replacement.
