Possible Causes
Faulty self-clean temperature sensor, Door lock not engaging fully, Overheat thermostat tripped, Control board safety logic fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Self-clean cycles reach very high temperatures. Always disconnect power before servicing.
- Check door lock: Start a self-clean cycle and listen for the lock motor. If the door does not lock, cancel the cycle and inspect the lock assembly.
- Reset thermal cut-out: Locate the high-limit thermostat on top of the cavity. If it has a reset button, press gently to reset.
- Test sensors: Verify both the standard NTC and any dedicated self-clean sensor for correct resistance.
- Control logic: If mechanical parts are good, the control board may be misinterpreting safety inputs and require replacement.
