Bosch oven shows E118 and may not start self-clean or high-heat modes

Safety first: Self-clean cycles reach very high temperatures. Always disconnect power before servicing.

• Check door lock: Start a self-clean cycle and listen for the lock motor. If the door does not lock, cancel the cycle and inspect the lock assembly.
• Reset thermal cut-out: Locate the high-limit thermostat on top of the cavity. If it has a reset button, press gently to reset.
• Test sensors: Verify both the standard NTC and any dedicated self-clean sensor for correct resistance.
• Control logic: If mechanical parts are good, the control board may be misinterpreting safety inputs and require replacement.
