Possible Causes
Open bottom heating element, Open top heating element, Faulty element relay on main PCB, Loose wiring to elements
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing panels or touching wiring.
- Visual inspection: Remove the oven racks and inspect the visible top and bottom elements for blisters, breaks, or burn marks.
- Access rear terminals: Pull the oven out and remove the rear cover to access the element terminals. Check for loose or burnt connectors.
- Test elements: Disconnect each element and measure resistance with a multimeter. A typical Bosch bake or grill element will show a finite resistance (often 15–40 Ω). An open circuit means the element is faulty and must be replaced.
- Check relays: If elements test good, inspect the main control board for burnt relay contacts or traces. If a relay is visibly damaged or does not click when commanded, the board may need replacement.
- Reassemble and test: After replacing any faulty element or board, reassemble, restore power, and test bake and grill functions.
