Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring, Unplugged sensor connector, Damaged sensor harness at rear of cavity
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing the sensor.
- Locate sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe (NTC sensor) usually mounted on the rear wall, often upper left or center.
- Access wiring: Remove the rear panel of the oven to access the sensor connector. Ensure the connector is fully seated.
- Test sensor: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Bosch NTC sensors typically read around 1–1.1 kΩ at 20–25°C (check model-specific data). An infinite (open) reading indicates a failed sensor.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, check the wiring from the sensor to the control board for breaks or chafing, especially where it passes through the oven wall grommet.
- Replace sensor: If open, remove the mounting screws from inside the cavity, pull the sensor through, transfer the connector if needed, and install the new Bosch-compatible sensor.
