Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Sensor wiring shorted to chassis, Moisture in sensor connector, Faulty main control board reading sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before testing.
- Test sensor resistance: Access the sensor connector at the rear of the oven. Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature. A very low resistance (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor.
- Check for shorts: Inspect the sensor cable where it passes through the oven wall. Look for melted insulation or contact with metal edges.
- Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture or steam intrusion, dry the connector thoroughly and apply a small amount of dielectric grease to protect contacts.
- Replace sensor: If the sensor is shorted, replace it with the correct Bosch NTC sensor. If the sensor tests normal but the board still reports E802, the main control board may be faulty.
