Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on power board, Faulty low‑voltage power supply module, Loose mains connection at terminal block, Tripped household circuit breaker
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Verify the circuit breaker is off before accessing the rear terminal block or internal components. Mains voltage can be lethal.
- Check external power: Confirm the wall outlet or dedicated circuit has power using a known working appliance or a voltage tester. Reset any tripped breakers or RCDs.
- Inspect terminal block: Pull the oven out and remove the rear cover to access the mains terminal block. Look for burnt terminals, loose screws, or discoloured insulation. Tighten connections and replace any burnt terminal block.
- Check internal fuse: Many Brandt ovens have a small glass or ceramic fuse on the power or main control board. With power disconnected, remove and test the fuse for continuity. Replace only with the same type and rating. If it blows again, there is an underlying short that must be diagnosed.
- Test power supply board: If the fuse is good and mains is present, the low‑voltage power supply (often integrated on the main PCB) may have failed. Look for bulged capacitors or burnt components. In most cases, the entire control board must be replaced.
