Possible Causes
Door not detected as locked, Faulty cavity temperature sensor, Faulty pyrolytic safety thermostat, Control board safety circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the oven is empty and racks are removed before attempting pyrolytic cleaning. Disconnect power before testing components.
- Verify door lock: Close the door firmly and listen for the lock motor. If the door does not lock, inspect the door lock assembly and microswitches as described in the door lock fault section. The pyro cycle will not start unless the lock is confirmed.
- Check temperature sensor: Test the NTC sensor resistance at room temperature and compare with specifications. A faulty sensor can prevent the control from authorizing high‑temperature cleaning. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect pyro safety thermostat: Locate the high‑limit thermostat dedicated to pyrolytic mode (often higher rating than normal safety stat). Test for continuity. If open and non‑resettable, replace it.
- Control board check: If all safety components test good, the pyro safety circuit on the main PCB may be defective. Replacement of the control board is usually required.
