Possible Causes

Shorted NTC sensor, Sensor wires shorted to chassis, Moisture ingress in sensor connector, Faulty control board input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before working near the sensor.

  • Test sensor resistance: Remove and disconnect the sensor. Measure resistance; a very low value (near 0 Ω) indicates a short. Replace the sensor.
  • Inspect harness for shorts: Look for points where the sensor cable may be pinched against metal or melted by heat. Insulate or reroute the cable and replace if insulation is damaged.
  • Dry connectors: If there are signs of moisture or steam near the connector, dry thoroughly and apply a small amount of contact cleaner. Ensure a tight fit.
  • Control board check: If a new sensor still reads as shorted, the input circuit on the PCB may be damaged. Replace the main control board.
