Possible Causes

Heating element insulation breakdown to chassis, Pinched live wire touching metal frame, Moisture inside elements or wiring, Faulty mains filter (EMI filter) shorting to earth

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not repeatedly reset a tripping breaker; this indicates a potentially dangerous fault. Disconnect the oven and do not use it until inspected.

  • Visual inspection: With power disconnected, remove the rear panel. Look for obvious signs of damage: burnt wires, melted insulation, or arcing marks on the chassis.
  • Test elements to earth: Disconnect each heating element and measure resistance between each terminal and the metal body of the element. Any reading significantly below several megaohms indicates leakage; replace the element.
  • Check cable routing: Ensure no wires are trapped between panels or rubbing against sharp metal edges. Re‑route and protect with grommets or sleeving.
  • Inspect mains filter: The EMI filter near the mains entry can fail and leak to earth. If it shows burn marks or tests shorted, replace it with the same specification component.

If you are not trained in electrical safety testing, have a professional perform insulation resistance tests.
