Possible Causes
Protective oils on elements, Residual manufacturing coatings, Packing materials left inside cavity, High‑temperature paint curing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure good kitchen ventilation (open windows, use extractor) during initial burn‑off. Keep children and pets away from fumes.
- Remove all packaging: Check inside the cavity, behind the racks, and under trays for plastic films, foam, or cardboard. Remove completely.
- Clean interior: Wipe the cavity, racks, and trays with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly.
- Run burn‑off cycles: Heat the empty oven to 200–250°C for 30–60 minutes, 2–3 times, allowing it to cool between cycles. Odor should diminish significantly.
- Persistent smell: If the smell persists after several uses, inspect for trapped plastic near the elements or insulation. Remove any foreign material.
