Possible Causes
Aged NTC temperature sensor, Miscalibrated electronic thermostat, Poor cavity airflow due to fan issues, Incorrect rack position affecting sensor reading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use heat‑resistant gloves when placing or removing thermometers from the hot oven.
- Verify with oven thermometer: Place a reliable oven thermometer in the center of the cavity. Preheat to a known temperature (e.g. 180°C) and compare the displayed temperature with the actual reading.
- Adjust calibration (if available): Some Brandt models allow offset adjustment in the settings menu. Apply a correction equal to the measured difference.
- Check convection fan: Ensure the convection fan runs properly in fan modes. Poor airflow can cause hot or cold spots. Replace the fan motor if it is slow or noisy.
- Replace sensor if drift is large: If the difference exceeds about ±20°C and cannot be corrected via calibration, replace the NTC temperature sensor.
