Safety first: Turn off power at the isolator and breaker before any work.

• Confirm supply: Check that the cooker switch neon (if fitted) is lit and that the breaker has not tripped. Reset if necessary.
• Check thermal cut-out: Access the top or rear of the oven and locate the thermal cut-out thermostat. Test for continuity. If open, replace or reset (if it has a reset button) after identifying any cause of overheating.
• Test main element: Inspect and test the main oven element for continuity. Replace if open circuit or visibly damaged.
• Inspect selector switch: Remove the control panel and check the function selector for burnt contacts. Replace if faulty.
• Check terminal block: Ensure all screws are tight and no wires are burnt or broken.
