Possible Causes

Open circuit temperature sensor, Shorted temperature sensor, Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose connector at control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before accessing internal components.

  • Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe (temperature sensor) usually at the rear. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor into the cavity to access its connector.
  • Test the sensor: Disconnect the sensor plug. Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the sensor terminals. An open circuit (OL) or near-zero ohms indicates a fault. Replace the sensor if readings are not within the typical range specified for Bush ovens (often around 500–1200 Ω at room temperature).
  • Inspect wiring and connectors: Trace the sensor cable to the control board. Check for cuts, burns, or crushed insulation. Ensure the connector is fully seated on the PCB. Repair any damaged wiring using heat-resistant cable and proper crimp connectors.
  • Clear the error: After replacing the sensor or repairing wiring, restore power and attempt to start a cooking program. Some Bush models will clear E03 automatically; others may require a power cycle (turn off at breaker for 1–2 minutes, then back on).
  • If E03 remains: The control board input circuit may be damaged. In this case, replacement of the main PCB is usually required and should be done by a qualified technician.
