Possible Causes

Shorted touchpad membrane, Failed electronic oven control (EOC) board, Moisture or contamination on control ribbon connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing any panels. Capacitors on the control board can retain charge; avoid touching exposed circuitry.

  • Power reset: Turn the oven off at the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. If F1 returns within a few minutes, continue below.
  • Check for stuck keys: Press each key on the Café control panel firmly one at a time. If any key feels stuck or does not click, the touchpad membrane may be shorted.
  • Inspect control ribbon: With power off, remove the control panel trim, then gently unplug and re-seat the flat ribbon cable from the touchpad to the electronic oven control (EOC). Ensure it is fully inserted and not pinched or corroded.
  • Dry moisture: If the panel was recently cleaned or exposed to steam, allow it to dry for several hours with power off. Do not spray cleaner directly on the control; spray a cloth instead.
  • Replace components as needed: If F1 persists after reseating the ribbon and drying, replace the touch control panel assembly. If the fault remains even with a new panel, replace the electronic oven control (EOC) board.
