Possible Causes
Open oven temperature sensor (RTD), Broken sensor wiring harness, Loose sensor connector at EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before accessing rear panels or internal wiring.
- Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the temperature sensor probe at the rear wall. Remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector (on some Café models the connector is behind the rear panel).
- Test resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~77°F / 25°C) it should be around 1080 Ω. An infinite reading indicates an open sensor.
- Inspect harness: If the sensor tests good, trace the harness from the sensor to the EOC behind the control panel or rear cover. Look for broken wires, burnt spots, or loose plugs. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace the oven temperature sensor (RTD) if open or out of range. If wiring and sensor are good but F3 persists, replace the electronic oven control (EOC).
