Safety First: Turn off power at the breaker. Internal metal edges can be sharp; wear cut-resistant gloves.
- Listen for fan: During operation, a Café wall oven should run a cooling fan. If you do not hear it, suspect the fan circuit.
- Inspect vents: Check front and rear ventilation openings for obstructions such as insulation, debris, or cabinet trim blocking airflow.
- Access fan: Remove the rear panel (for wall ovens) or top cover (for ranges) to access the cooling fan motor. Spin the fan blade by hand; it should turn freely without grinding.
- Check wiring: Inspect the fan harness and connector to the control board for burns or loose connections. Reseat connectors.
- Replace fan: If the fan is seized, noisy, or does not receive proper voltage when commanded on, replace the cooling fan motor assembly.
