Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, Contaminated or wet keypad, Failed control panel assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power at the breaker before removing the control panel.
- Power cycle: Turn off power for 5 minutes, then restore. If F7 reappears immediately or keys act erratically, continue.
- Inspect for moisture: If the control area was recently cleaned, moisture may be bridging keypad contacts. Leave power off and allow the panel to dry for several hours. Avoid spraying cleaner directly on the panel.
- Check ribbon cable: Remove the control panel trim and inspect the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the EOC. Reseat the connector and ensure it is straight and fully inserted.
- Replace panel: If F7 persists, replace the touch control panel assembly. On some Café models, the keypad and display are integrated and must be replaced as a unit.
