Possible Causes
Grease build-up behind knobs, Worn selector switch shaft, Cracked knob hub, Misaligned thermostat spindle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the oven is off and cool before removing knobs.
- Remove and clean knobs: Pull the knobs straight off the shafts. Clean the knobs and fascia with a degreaser.
- Inspect shafts: Check the selector and thermostat shafts for bending or damage. If the shaft is loose or wobbly, the underlying switch may need replacement.
- Replace cracked knobs: Fit new Caple-compatible knobs if the inner hub is split or worn.
- Realign: When refitting, align the knob indicator with the correct off position as per the manual.
