Caple oven will not heat at all in any mode; display and lights work but cavity stays cold.

Safety first: Switch off the oven at the wall isolator and remove the fuse or switch off the circuit breaker. Confirm the oven is completely cold before working.

• Check power and settings: Verify the oven is not in demo mode and that a temperature and function (e.g. fan oven) are correctly selected.
• Inspect heating elements: Remove the rear oven panel (inside cavity) to expose the fan element. Look for visible breaks, blisters, or burn marks. If damaged, the element must be replaced.
• Test continuity: With a multimeter set to ohms, test the main fan element and top/bottom elements from their terminals. A good element typically reads between 20–60 Ω. An open reading (OL) indicates a failed element.
• Check wiring and connectors: Inspect the wiring harness from the main PCB to the elements for burnt or loose spade connectors. Reseat any loose connectors firmly.
• Reset/inspect safety thermostat: On many Caple ovens there is a non-resettable or resettable overheat thermostat on the top or rear of the cavity. Access from the rear, check for a small red reset button (if fitted) and press gently. If it immediately trips again, investigate cooling fan operation and ventilation.
• If no element fault found: The power relay on the main PCB may have failed. This typically requires PCB repair or replacement by a qualified technician.
