Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power and allow it to cool completely.

Access the fan element: Remove the oven shelves and rear internal panel to expose the circular fan element around the fan.
Visual check: Look for breaks, bulges, or hot spots on the element ring. Any visible damage means the element must be replaced.
Test continuity: Disconnect the element terminals and measure resistance. An open reading indicates failure. Replace with a genuine or compatible Caple fan oven element of the same rating.
Check connectors: Ensure the spade terminals are tight and not heat-damaged. Replace any discoloured or loose connectors and trim back burnt wire before fitting new terminals.
Reassemble and test: Refit the rear panel, restore power, and test fan oven mode. Monitor for correct heating and ensure the fan runs smoothly.

Caple oven fan runs but there is no heat in fan oven mode; grill and conventional top/bottom heat may still work.
