Possible Causes

Seized convection fan motor, Worn motor bearings, Obstruction behind fan blade, Faulty fan motor wiring or connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains and allow it to cool. Fan blades can be sharp; wear gloves.

  • Check fan movement: Remove the rear internal panel and try to spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding noises.
  • Clear obstructions: Remove any loose screws, foil, or debris caught behind the fan blade.
  • Access motor: From the rear of the oven, remove the cover over the fan motor. Inspect for signs of overheating or oil leakage.
  • Test motor: Disconnect the motor and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. If resistance is normal but the motor hums and does not start, the bearings may be seized and the motor should be replaced.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the PCB to the motor for damage or loose connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Replace motor: Remove the fan blade fixing nut (usually reverse thread) and transfer the blade to the new motor. Refit and test.
