Possible Causes
Blocked ventilation around oven, Failed cooling fan, Faulty overheat thermostat, Control PCB temperature monitoring fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the oven and allow it to cool completely. Isolate from mains before internal inspection.
- Check installation clearances: Ensure the oven has the ventilation gaps specified in the Caple installation manual. Remove any items blocking vents above or below the oven.
- Verify cooling fan operation: During a heating cycle, the tangential cooling fan should run. If it does not, test and replace the cooling fan motor as needed.
- Inspect overheat thermostat: Locate the overheat thermostat on the top or rear of the cavity. Test for continuity when cold. If open and non-resettable, replace it. If resettable, press the reset button once and investigate why it tripped.
- Clean filters and vents: Remove dust and grease from ventilation slots and any removable filters to improve airflow.
- If error persists: The main PCB may be misreading temperature or driving the elements incorrectly. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
