Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor, Broken sensor wiring, Sensor connector shorting to chassis, Faulty sensor input on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains before testing the sensor circuit.
- Inspect sensor cable: Follow the sensor lead from the probe in the cavity to the PCB. Look for crushed insulation, pinch points, or signs of chafing against metal.
- Test resistance at PCB: Disconnect the sensor plug at the PCB and measure resistance across the two sensor wires. Compare with expected room-temperature value. If reading is near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open), replace the sensor.
- Check for shorts to earth: Measure resistance from each sensor wire to the oven chassis. Any low reading indicates insulation damage; repair or replace the harness.
- Replace PCB if needed: If the sensor and wiring test correctly but the error persists, the PCB’s sensor input circuit may be defective.
