Possible Causes

NTC temperature sensor open circuit, broken sensor wiring harness, loose connector on control PCB, failed electronic control board sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power (unplug or switch off circuit breaker) before opening any panels. Allow the oven to cool completely.

  • Access the sensor: On most Clatronic built-in and countertop ovens, the NTC temperature sensor is mounted on the rear wall of the cavity, usually held by 1–2 screws and connected via a two‑wire harness.
  • Visual inspection: Check if the sensor probe is broken, bent, or hanging loose. Inspect the wiring for burns, cuts, or melted insulation.
  • Check connections: Remove the rear cover (for freestanding) or top cover (for countertop models). Locate the sensor connector on the control PCB and reseat it firmly.
  • Measure resistance: With a multimeter set to kΩ, measure the sensor resistance at room temperature. Typical NTC sensors read between 1 kΩ and 100 kΩ depending on type (often ~100 kΩ at 25°C for Clatronic). If the reading is infinite (open) or 0 Ω (short), the sensor is defective.
  • Replace if faulty: If the sensor is open or physically damaged, remove the mounting screw(s), disconnect the plug, and install a new compatible Clatronic NTC temperature sensor. Route the cable away from hot elements and sharp edges.
  • Control board check: If the sensor tests good but E0 persists, inspect the control PCB for burnt tracks or damaged components around the sensor input. In this case, replacement of the electronic control board is usually required and is best done by a qualified technician.
