Possible Causes
Open circuit in top heating element, open circuit in bottom heating element, failed relay on control PCB, burnt wiring to heating elements
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power before removing covers. Heating circuits carry dangerous voltages.
- Access rear panel: Remove the rear cover to expose the top and bottom heating element terminals and wiring.
- Visual inspection: Look for burnt connectors, discolored wires, or broken element terminals on the Clatronic upper grill element and lower bake element.
- Continuity test: Disconnect one wire from each element and measure resistance across the element terminals. A typical element will read between 15–60 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed (open) element.
- Check wiring and relays: Trace the wires from the elements to the control PCB. Inspect for loose spade connectors or heat damage. On the PCB, check the heater relays for signs of burning or cracked solder joints.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace any open heating element with a compatible Clatronic top or bottom heating element. If wiring is burnt, replace the affected harness section and terminals. If relays are defective, the entire control board is usually replaced as a unit.
- Reassemble and test: After replacement, reassemble panels, restore power, and test in a low-temperature bake mode to confirm proper operation.
