Possible Causes
Faulty door switch, misaligned door latch, broken door lock mechanism (on models with lock), wiring fault between door switch and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before working around the door mechanism. Beware of sharp metal edges.
- Check door closure: Ensure the oven door closes fully and evenly. Look for bent hinges or obstructions on the door seal.
- Listen for click: Slowly close the door and listen for a distinct click from the door switch. No click may indicate a failed or misaligned switch.
- Access door switch: Remove the top or side panel to reach the door switch assembly near the latch area. On some Clatronic models, the switch is behind the front frame.
- Test switch: Disconnect the switch and test continuity with a multimeter while pressing and releasing the actuator. Replace if it does not change state reliably.
- Inspect latch and lock: For models with an automatic door lock (e.g., pyrolytic cleaning), check the lock motor and linkage for jamming or breakage. Ensure the lock microswitch operates correctly.
- Replace components: Install a new door switch or door lock assembly as required. Adjust the latch position so the door closes firmly and activates the switch.
