Possible Causes

Failed convection fan motor, seized fan bearings, obstruction in fan blades, wiring fault to convection motor, failed fan relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and allow the oven to cool. The convection fan area can remain hot for some time.

  • Access fan: Remove the rear interior panel of the oven cavity (usually held by screws) to expose the convection fan and cover. On some Clatronic models, you may also need to remove the rear outer panel.
  • Inspect fan blades: Check for food debris, foil, or grease buildup obstructing the fan. Clean carefully with a non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding. Stiff or noisy rotation indicates worn bearings or a failing motor.
  • Electrical test: From the rear, disconnect the fan motor leads and measure resistance. An open circuit or very high resistance suggests a failed motor.
  • Check wiring and relay: Trace the fan wiring to the control board. Inspect for loose connectors or heat damage. If the motor is good but not powered, the fan relay on the PCB may be defective.
  • Replace motor or board: Replace the convection fan motor with the correct Clatronic part. If the relay or PCB is faulty, replace the control board.
