Possible Causes

Open-circuit safety thermostat on oven cavity, overheated due to blocked vents, failed resettable thermostat not resetting, wiring fault in safety circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power. Allow the oven to cool fully before attempting any reset.

  • Locate safety thermostat: On many Clatronic ovens, a small round or rectangular thermostat is mounted on the top of the oven cavity or rear panel, often with two terminals.
  • Check for manual reset: Some thermostats have a small red or black reset button. Press it firmly to reset. If it clicks, it was tripped.
  • Test continuity: With the oven cold and power disconnected, test the thermostat with a multimeter. It should show continuity. An open reading indicates a failed thermostat.
  • Inspect ventilation: Check that cooling vents are not blocked and that the cooling fan operates correctly. Overheating can repeatedly trip the thermostat.
  • Replace thermostat: If the thermostat will not reset or remains open, replace it with the correct temperature-rated Clatronic safety thermostat. Ensure good contact with the mounting surface for accurate temperature sensing.
