Possible Causes
Faulty rotary function selector switch, worn contacts inside selector, broken shaft or knob, wiring fault between selector and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing the control panel or knobs.
- Check knob and shaft: Ensure the function selector knob is not cracked or slipping on the shaft. Replace the knob if loose.
- Access selector switch: Remove the front control panel to expose the rotary function switch. Note the wiring positions or take a photo before disconnecting anything.
- Inspect contacts: Look for signs of burning or wear on the switch terminals. Gently rotate the switch and feel for positive detents; excessive looseness indicates wear.
- Test continuity: Using the wiring diagram (if available), test the switch positions with a multimeter to confirm correct contact closure for each mode.
- Replace selector: If contacts are worn or readings are inconsistent, replace the function selector switch with the correct Clatronic part number.
