Possible Causes
Mechanical thermostat contacts welded closed (on analog models), heater relay stuck on, shorted triac, faulty temperature sensor reading too high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power immediately to prevent fire risk. Allow oven to cool.
- Check sensor: Test the NTC sensor for correct resistance. Replace if out of range.
- Inspect control board: Look for welded relay contacts or a visibly damaged triac. If a relay is stuck, the element may remain energized even when off.
- Mechanical thermostat: On knob-controlled Clatronic ovens with a mechanical thermostat, test the thermostat contacts with a multimeter while turning the knob. Replace the thermostat if it does not open at lower settings.
- Replace faulty control: Replace the thermostat or electronic control board as required. Do not continue using the oven until the fault is corrected.
