Oven temperature knob or selector is stiff or difficult to turn.

Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing knobs or panels.

• Remove knob: Pull the knob straight off the shaft. Clean the knob and surrounding panel area.
• Inspect shaft: Check for corrosion or debris on the shaft. Do not apply excessive force.
• Lubrication: If recommended by the manufacturer, apply a small amount of high-temperature-safe lubricant to the shaft (avoid getting any into electrical contacts).
• Replace component: If stiffness persists or the shaft is bent, replace the thermostat or selector switch assembly.
