Possible Causes
Shorted touchpad membrane, Damaged control panel overlay, Moisture intrusion into keypad area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Disconnect power before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the error appeared after cleaning, leave power off and allow the control panel to dry for several hours. Do not spray cleaners directly on the keypad in the future; spray onto a cloth instead.
- Inspect keypad ribbon: Remove the control panel trim to access the keypad ribbon cable. Disconnect and inspect for corrosion or damage. Clean gently with isopropyl alcohol and reconnect firmly.
- Test keypad: With power restored, see if the error clears and buttons respond normally. If F7 persists or keys activate by themselves, the keypad/touch panel assembly is defective.
- Replace keypad or control panel: On many Danby ovens, the keypad is integrated with the front control panel. Remove mounting screws from inside the console, transfer the electronic control board to the new panel if separate, and reinstall.
