Possible Causes
Aging oven temperature sensor, Miscalibrated control, Poor rack placement or airflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Allow the oven to cool before removing the sensor.
- Verify with thermometer: Place an oven-safe thermometer in the center of the oven and run at 180 °C (350 °F) for at least 20–30 minutes. Compare actual vs set temperature.
- Adjust calibration: Many Danby ovens allow temperature offset adjustment in the settings menu (e.g., ±35 °F / ±20 °C). Adjust according to the measured difference.
- Check sensor: If the offset required is large or unstable, test the sensor resistance and replace if out of spec.
- Improve airflow: Avoid blocking air circulation with oversized pans or foil on the racks, which can affect temperature readings.
