Possible Causes

Shorted NTC sensor, moisture ingress into sensor, wiring short to chassis, overheated sensor connector

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely.

  • Visual inspection: Check the sensor probe inside the cavity for signs of damage, discoloration, or moisture. If the oven was recently steam-cleaned, allow extra drying time.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. A very low reading (near 0 Ω) indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor.
  • Check for wiring shorts: Inspect the cable from the sensor to the control board for crushed insulation or contact with sharp metal edges. Repair or replace as needed.
  • Drying: If moisture is suspected (after steam cleaning), leave the oven door open for several hours and try again. If the error persists, replace the sensor.
