Possible Causes
Faulty door lock motor, jammed lock mechanism, broken door lock microswitch, wiring fault between lock and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the lock mechanism. Do not force the door closed or open with tools.
- Check door closure: Ensure the door is fully closed and aligned. A misaligned door may prevent the lock from engaging.
- Listen for lock motor: When starting pyrolytic cleaning, you should hear the lock motor operate. If silent, suspect the motor or control.
- Access lock assembly: Remove the oven from the cabinet and take off the top/front panel to access the door lock mechanism (usually at the top front).
- Inspect mechanism: Check for bent parts, grease buildup, or obstructions. Manually move the lock lever to verify free movement.
- Test microswitches: Use a multimeter to test the lock position switches for proper open/closed operation when the lock is moved. Replace the lock assembly if switches are faulty or non-serviceable.
- Wiring and control: Inspect the harness from the lock to the main PCB. If the lock assembly is good but not powered, the control board output may be defective.
