Possible Causes
Failed capacitive touch glass, damaged touch PCB, moisture ingress behind control panel, loose connector to main board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power before removing the control panel.
- Power reset: Turn off the breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power. Sometimes the touch controller recovers from a temporary fault.
- Clean the panel: Wipe the glass touch surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use excessive water or sprays directly on the panel.
- Check for moisture: If the oven was recently steam-cleaned or heavily used, moisture may affect the touch panel. Leave the door open and allow several hours to dry, then test again.
- Inspect connections: Remove the control panel and check the ribbon cable between the touch glass/PCB and the main control board. Reseat firmly.
- Replace touch assembly: If specific keys never respond and the cable is good, the touch panel assembly (glass + PCB) is likely defective and should be replaced with the correct De Dietrich part.
