Heat escaping around oven door, visible steam or smoke from edges, front of cabinet gets very hot

Safety first: Allow the oven to cool before touching the gasket.

• Inspect gasket: Check the entire perimeter of the door seal for tears, gaps, or flattened sections.
• Check retention clips: Ensure the gasket is properly seated in its channel and that retaining clips or hooks are intact.
• Replace gasket: Gently pull out the old gasket. Clean the channel, then press the new De Dietrich gasket into place, ensuring even tension around the door.
• Verify closure: Close the door and check for uniform contact. Perform a paper test by closing the door on a strip of paper at several points; it should grip firmly.
