Possible Causes
Burnt bake or broil relay, Shorted triac, Power surge damage, Overheated control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Capacitors on the board may retain charge; avoid touching components unnecessarily.
- Visual inspection: Remove the rear or top panel to access the EOC. Look for burnt or cracked components, especially around the large relays.
- Check element continuity: A shorted element can damage relays. Test bake and broil elements for proper resistance and shorts to ground.
- Replace damaged parts: If the board shows damage or E50 persists, replace the EOC. Also replace any shorted elements to prevent repeat failure.
