Possible Causes

Shorted oven temperature sensor, Failed electronic oven control board (EOC) temperature circuit, Stuck relay on control board keeping element energized, Damaged sensor wiring harness

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker immediately if the oven is overheating or elements stay on.

  • Allow to cool: Let the oven cool completely before working on it.
  • Check oven temperature sensor: Locate the temperature sensor probe inside the oven (usually back wall, upper corner). With power off, remove the mounting screws and gently pull the sensor forward to access the connector. Disconnect and measure resistance with a multimeter. At room temperature (~20–25°C), an Electrolux sensor should read around 1050–1100 Ω. If it is open, shorted, or far out of range, replace the sensor.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the harness from the sensor to the control board for burns, cuts, or loose connectors. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Control board evaluation: If the sensor tests good and wiring is intact, the EOC may be misreading temperature or have a stuck relay. Inspect the board for burnt spots or damaged solder joints. Replace the EOC if defective.
  • Verify operation: After replacing parts, run a bake cycle and monitor temperature with an oven thermometer to ensure it heats and cycles normally without re-triggering F2.
