Possible Causes

Failed cooling fan motor, Blocked cooling air vents, Faulty fan relay on EOC, Open or shorted high-limit thermostat (thermal cutoff)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Internal components may be hot; allow the oven to cool.

  • Check cooling fan operation: During a bake cycle, the internal cooling fan should run. If it does not, access the fan from the rear or top (depending on model) and test for free rotation by hand.
  • Test fan motor: With power off, disconnect the fan motor and measure resistance. An open circuit indicates a failed motor. Also check for 120/230V supply to the fan during operation (live test only if you are qualified).
  • Inspect vents: Ensure the front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by cabinetry, foil, or debris. Clear any obstructions.
  • Check thermal cutoffs: Locate any high-limit thermostats or thermal fuses on the oven chassis. Test for continuity. Replace any that are open.
  • Control board relay: If the fan and thermostats are good but the fan never receives power, the EOC fan relay may be faulty. Replace the EOC if necessary.
