Possible Causes
Failed door lock motor assembly, Broken or jammed door lock latch, Faulty door lock switch, Wiring issue between lock assembly and EOC
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power at the breaker. Do not force the door open with tools; you may damage the glass or hinges.
- Power reset: Turn off power for 5–10 minutes, then restore. Sometimes the lock motor will reset and unlock the door.
- Manual release: On many Electrolux ovens, you can access a manual door lock release through the top or rear panel. Remove the panel and gently move the lock lever to unlock the door.
- Inspect lock assembly: With the door open and power off, remove the top or front panel to access the door lock motor assembly. Check for broken plastic parts, seized motor, or misaligned latch.
- Test switches and motor: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the lock and unlock switches and resistance of the lock motor. Replace the door lock assembly if any component is defective.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lock assembly to the EOC for damage or loose connectors. Repair as needed.
