Possible Causes
Overheated or warped lock mechanism, Failed door lock motor, Jammed lock linkage, High-limit thermostat not reset
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker and allow the oven to cool completely. Do not force the door open.
- Wait for cooling: Some locks will not release until the cavity temperature drops below a threshold. Wait at least 1–2 hours.
- Manual release: Remove the top or rear panel to access the lock assembly and manually move the lock lever to unlock the door.
- Inspect lock: Check for heat damage or binding. Replace the lock assembly if damaged.
- Check high-limit: Test any high-limit thermostats and reset or replace if open.
