Possible Causes
Shorted oven temperature sensor, Stuck bake or broil relay on EOC, Miswired power connection, Door not sealing causing sensor misread
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the oven is overheating uncontrollably, shut off power at the breaker immediately.
- Check sensor: Test the oven temperature sensor resistance at room temperature and at a known elevated temperature if possible. Replace if readings are incorrect or unstable.
- Inspect control board: Look for a relay welded closed (burnt contacts) on the EOC. If an element stays on constantly, replace the EOC.
- Verify wiring: Ensure the power cord is wired correctly to the terminal block according to the installation manual.
- Door seal: Replace a damaged door gasket that may cause hot air to escape and affect sensor readings.
- Re-test with thermometer: After repairs, verify temperature accuracy with an oven thermometer and adjust calibration if needed.
