Oven will not heat at all in any mode, display and oven light work but cavity stays cold

Safety first: Disconnect the oven from mains power at the breaker or unplug it before removing any panels. Allow the oven to cool completely.

• Check the bake element: Remove the rear panel (freestanding) or rear cavity cover (built-in). Inspect the lower bake element for blisters, cracks, or burn marks. If damaged or open-circuit (no continuity on a multimeter), replace the bake element with a compatible Essentials part.
• Inspect wiring: Check the wiring harness from the control module to the bake element for burned connectors or loose spades. Reseat or replace any overheated terminals.
• Test the temperature sensor (NTC probe): Locate the sensor inside the cavity (usually at the rear upper area). Disconnect its connector and measure resistance; typical Essentials sensors are around 1000–1100 Ω at 20–25°C. If reading is open, shorted, or far out of range, replace the sensor.
• Check the function/selector switch (if mechanical knob type): With power still OFF, remove the control panel and inspect the selector switch for burned contacts or melted plastic. If contacts are visibly damaged or continuity tests fail in bake mode, replace the selector switch.
• Restore power and test: After reassembly, restore power and test in conventional bake at 180–200°C. If heating resumes, monitor for normal cycling.
