Possible Causes
Disconnected or broken temperature sensor (NTC probe), damaged sensor harness, faulty connector on control board, failed control board input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before accessing internal components.
- Locate the sensor: Inside the oven cavity, find the small metal probe at the rear or top. Remove its mounting screws and gently pull it forward to access the connector.
- Check continuity: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. If the meter shows open circuit (OL), the sensor is faulty and must be replaced with the correct Essentials sensor.
- Inspect wiring harness: Trace the sensor wires from the cavity to the control board. Look for breaks, burns, or loose plugs. Repair or replace damaged wiring and ensure connectors are fully seated.
- Check control board socket: With power still OFF, inspect the sensor connector on the PCB for cracked solder joints. If present, resolder or replace the control module.
- Reset and test: After replacing the sensor or repairing wiring, restore power and clear the error by switching the oven off and on. Run a preheat cycle to confirm normal operation.
