Possible Causes

Open or weak safety thermostat (thermal cut-out), blocked cooling vents, failed cooling fan, poor installation causing overheating of control area

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains power and allow it to cool completely.

  • Check installation and ventilation: Ensure the oven has the required clearance in the cabinet and that front and rear ventilation slots are not blocked by panels or insulation.
  • Inspect cooling fan: Access the top or rear of the oven to locate the cooling fan (not the cavity fan). Spin the blades by hand and check for free movement. If seized or noisy, replace the cooling fan motor.
  • Test safety thermostat: Locate the thermal cut-out on the top or rear of the oven casing. Some are manual-reset (small button in the center). Press to reset if tripped. If it trips repeatedly or tests open-circuit at room temperature, replace it.
  • Clean air paths: Remove dust and grease from the cooling fan and air channels to improve airflow.
  • Re-test: After repairs, run the oven at a moderate temperature and monitor to ensure it no longer shuts down and E09 does not reappear.
